Simple Ads for Publishers
Direct-sold advertising for WordPress without the ad-tech platform.
You sold the ad. Simple Ads gives you a straightforward way to put it on your site, decide where and when it runs, rotate it with other advertisers, measure impressions and clicks, and export the results.

You shouldn’t need an enterprise ad server to run a banner ad.
A local restaurant buys a banner for a month.
A law firm sponsors your homepage.
Three businesses rotate through a sidebar position.
One advertiser bought twice as much exposure as another.
Those are ordinary direct-advertising jobs.
Simple Ads was built to handle them without adding an enterprise advertising platform to the workflow.
Created by John Byrne at Hooray Media to solve problems we ran into running our own publishing sites.
The direct-advertising basics, in WordPress.
- Ad
- Slot
- Rotate
- Measure
- Reusable ad slots
- Create positions such as a homepage leaderboard, sidebar rectangle or article banner once, then reuse them across the site.
- Campaign scheduling
- Set start and end dates so campaigns become eligible and expire automatically.
- Ad rotation
- Run multiple creatives in the same slot and use rotation weights when advertisers have purchased different shares of the inventory.
- Impression measurement
- By default, Simple Ads counts an impression when at least 50% of the ad has remained visible for one continuous second in the active browser tab.
- Click measurement
- Record clicks before sending the visitor to the advertiser’s destination.
- Reporting
- Review daily results and export reporting data to CSV.
- Built for cached WordPress sites
- The page can stay cached while Simple Ads selects the eligible creative separately, so full-page caching doesn’t freeze one advertiser into the slot.
Use it alongside the ad network you already have.
Simple Ads isn’t intended to replace Raptive, Mediavine, AdSense or another programmatic advertising system.
Use it for the premium inventory you sell directly and let your existing ad partner handle the rest.
Your site. Your ads. Your numbers.
Simple Ads keeps its core advertising data inside your WordPress installation.
Its reporting is built around aggregate advertising activity rather than reader profiles.
It does not need to store IP addresses, user IDs, device identifiers or full user-agent strings as part of its advertising reporting, and it does not require an outside Hooray ad-serving service.
Simple Ads provides first-party publisher reporting. It does not claim independent advertising-measurement accreditation.
